Role Overview:

We are seeking a Mid .NET Developer to contribute to the development and enhancement of Shega’s intelligence platform and supporting web applications. You will work across both frontend and backend systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly digital products.

This role sits at the intersection of web development, API engineering, and user experience, and is critical to ensuring Shega delivers performant and intuitive applications for Africa’s fast-growing markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Development:

• Build and maintain web applications using .NET for backend development and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, TypeScript) for frontend.
• Develop and integrate APIs to support data access and external integrations.
• Implement responsive and user-friendly interfaces aligned with user-centered design principles.
  

Code Quality & Collaboration:

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following industry best practices.
• Use version control (Git) to collaborate effectively with other developers.
  
• Participate in code reviews, contribute feedback, and maintain high engineering standards.

Database & Systems:

• Work with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MongoDB) for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Support troubleshooting and debugging across frontend, backend, and database layers.
  
• Apply basic testing practices, including writing and executing unit tests.

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute actively to team discussions.
• Continuously learn and adopt new tools, frameworks, and practices to improve efficiency and product quality.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and analysts to ensure features meet user and business needs.

• Strong foundation in both frontend and backend web development.
  
• Proficiency in C#, .NET, and RESTful API development.
  
• Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  
• Practical knowledge of React or other modern frontend frameworks.
  
• Familiarity with databases and SQL fundamentals.
• Basic knowledge of data management and integration using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
  
• Understanding of responsive design principles and UX best practices.
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  
• Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  
• Exposure to testing frameworks and automated testing practices.
  
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
  
• Previous experience in startups or fast-growth environments is preferred.
