Head of People & Culture
Position Summary:
The Head of People & Culture (HoPC) will lead all Human Resources functions, including recruitment, retention, benefits, onboarding, performance management, compliance, training, and development. This new leadership role involves strategic planning and implementing organizational strategies, culture, plans, and policies.
Primary Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Develop and implement equitable recruitment and hiring processes.
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, and succession planning.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze data for continuous improvement.
- Identify and develop new leaders.
Regulatory & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws.
- Update policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance.
Organizational Culture:
- Create and implement programs
- Develop HR policies to improve employee relations and organizational culture.
- Enhance employee engagement and satisfaction, focusing on marginalized groups.
- Address complex employee relations issues and conduct investigations.
Professional Development & Performance:
- Identify professional development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of learning and growth.
- Implement inclusive leadership practices and provide coaching.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Develop and manage a competitive compensation program.
- Oversee benefits administration and propose new benefit options.
HRIS/Technology:
- Maintain and optimize HR information systems.
- Use HR metrics for strategic planning and decision-making.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Expertise in compensation, benefits, and performance evaluation.
- Knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and compliance requirements.
- Experience in developing HR policies and fostering inclusive workplaces.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage conflict and coach employees effectively.
Education and Work Experience:
- 3-5 years of HR generalist experience.
- Additional 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
