Position Summary:
The Research and Advisory Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping strategic decisions and delivering data-driven insights to strengthen Shega Media and Technology’s competitive position. This role involves leading research initiatives, analyzing market trends, and providing expert advisory services to internal teams and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will manage research projects, interpret complex data, and deliver actionable recommendations that align with company objectives and client needs in the dynamic media and technology sectors.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Research Leadership & Project Management
- Lead and oversee research projects on trends, opportunities, and challenges within the media and technology sectors.
- Manage multiple research initiatives, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Apply both quantitative and qualitative research methods (surveys, interviews, focus groups, data analysis).
- Support data aggregation efforts to maintain comprehensive and reliable datasets for research and advisory purposes.
Strategic Guidance & Client Advisory
- Provide strategic recommendations based on research findings to optimize client operations and innovation.
- Develop tailored advisory services for clients, offering actionable solutions.
- Serve as the primary contact for research-related inquiries, maintaining strong client relationships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to interpret research findings and identify strategic opportunities for business development.
Market Analysis & Trend Identification
- Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, technologies, and competitor activities.
- Analyze industry trends and consumer behavior to inform client strategies.
- Deliver forward-looking advice to help clients maintain a competitive edge.
Collaboration & Integration
- Work closely with internal teams (marketing, product, development) to integrate research insights into business strategies.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration for successful project execution.
- Support business development initiatives by leveraging research insights to identify new opportunities.
Reporting & Presentation
- Prepare and present high-impact reports, presentations, and white papers for clients and stakeholders.
- Communicate complex findings in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
- Contribute to major report publications, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and impact.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and guide a team of researchers and analysts, fostering professional growth.
- Provide training, feedback, and career development opportunities.
Innovation & Growth
- Identify new trends and opportunities for growth within the media and technology sectors.
- Contribute to Shega Media’s thought leadership through blogs, white papers, and industry events.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Economics, Media, or Technology.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in research, strategy consulting, or advisory services (with at least 2 years in a management role).
- Strong analytical skills and experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Proven ability to communicate complex findings to senior stakeholders.
- Leadership experience in managing research projects and teams.
- Deep understanding of the media and technology landscape in Ethiopia and East Africa.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in research tools and technology platforms.
